Overview

The Billing Agent III is accountable for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the customer billing processes. This candidate will be responsible for generating an error-free invoice in accordance to the customer's rate card, tendering to customer/freight payment company, resolve billing disputes, managing communications, and supporting internal and external customers with reporting and analytical metrics.

Responsibilities

• Generate and deliver accurate / timely invoices specific to customer accounts per invoicing KPI metrics, via digital, EDI
and traditional mail services.
• Provide informative verification and resolution of billing discrepancies with internal and external customers.
• Identify billing trends or discrepancies impacting payments and review account balances regularly.
• Produce weekly invoice summaries of all activity processed for all accounts.
• Act as a liaison with the internal and external customers in solving problems related to shipment invoicing.
• Work closely with AIT’s teams to improve billing processes and automated systems. Support team members and
provide feedback to management to enhance overall performance.

Qualifications

Education Qualifications
• High School Diploma Required
• Associate's Degree Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. Preferred


Experience Qualifications
• 3+ years Industry experience in logistics environment. Required
• 3+ years Experience in billing or accounting. Required
• 3+ years AS400 and Cargo Wise experience. Preferred


Skills and Abilities
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel). (High proficiency)
• Previous experience working with AS400 and Cargo Wise. (Medium proficiency)
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks effectively. (High proficiency)
• Solid understanding on how to read a customer’s contract. (High proficiency)
• Professional communication verbal and written for phone/e-mail interaction. (High proficiency)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail and accuracy. (High proficiency)
• Ability to work independently in a high-volume environment. (High proficiency)
