Overview

The International Gateway Operations Agent II is tasked with coordinating gateway freight operations to ensure shipments are delivered efficiently and on time. This position involves collaborating with various stakeholders, such as carriers, customers, and internal teams, to streamline gateway freight processes and uphold high service standards. Additionally, this role acts as a liaison between US and overseas AIT stations and Global Agent providers handling transiting freight.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate daily gateway freight activities, including booking shipments, tracking cargo, obtaining scheduled rates, and ensuring timely delivery
  • Communicate with freight forwarders, and customers to resolve issues and provide updates on shipment status
  • Ensure all necessary documentation is completed accurately and complies with international regulations and company policies
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce costs
  • Track key performance indicators (KPIs) and report on operational metrics to management
  • Inform stations, vertical teams, and account managers of cargo received at the dock for console or B2B shipments, including scanning and emailing warehouse receipts.. Address and resolve any issues that arise during the transportation process, including delays, damages, and discrepancies.
  • Work closely with other departments, such as sales, customer service, and logistics, to ensure seamless operations
  • Ensure every shipment (IE, T&E, etc.) is transferred within the required time by Customs, and ensure all inbound cargo arriving into a port is cleared properly and closed out before export.
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Complies with all policies and standards
  • The wage range for this position is $34.30-$47.70 and may vary based on geography as well as relative knowledge, skills, abilities, and experience

Qualifications

Education
• High School Diploma or GED (Required)

Experience
• 3+ years of transportation industry experience in gateway export / import operations (Required)
• 5+ years of freight forwarding operations experience (Preferred)

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Knowledge of working within government vertical, strongly preferred High
• Proficient in Microsoft Office suite High
• Excellent communication skills both verbal and written High
• Ability to multi-task in a high volume, fast-paced working environment High
• Attention to detail and strong organizing skills High
• Ability to work autonomously as well as within a team environment High
• Knowledge of TSA, ITAR and Dangerous Goods regulations Medium
• Cargo-wise experience Medium
