Overview
The Safety & Security Specialist II will respond to safety and security incidents across all AIT operations by conducting root cause investigations and implementing corrective actions. This includes performing inspections to identify hazards, supporting audits through meticulous documentation, and ensuring compliance with local to international regulations by translating updates from agencies like OSHA, DOT, TSA, and CBP into internal policies.
Responsibilities
- Respond to safety and security incidents across all AIT operational environments. Ensure timely, thorough investigations by driving root cause analysis, and implements corrective actions to prevent recurrence
- Conduct routine and targeted inspections to uncover safety hazards and security vulnerabilities, using standardized tools and checklists to ensure thoroughness and consistency. Evaluate risks based on severity and likelihood, prioritizing them for corrective action. Detailed documentation of findings, including photos and risk ratings for transparency and compliance.
- Prepare and support both internal and external audits by ensuring that all safety and security protocols, documentation, and compliance measures are audit-ready. This includes maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of safety inspections, incident investigations, training logs, and regulatory compliance reports. collaborate closely with internal teams, such as operations, human resources, and compliance, to gather and verify required documentation and ensure alignment with audit criteria. Serve as a key point of contact, facilitating auditor access to relevant systems, records, and personnel, and providing clear explanations of safety procedures and controls
- Ensure all operations, facilities, and personnel adhere to applicable safety and security regulations at the local, state, federal, and international levels. This includes continuously monitoring regulatory updates from agencies such as OSHA (Occupational Safety Health Administration), DOT (Department of Transportation), TSA (Transportation Security Administration), and CBP (Customs Border Patrol), and translating those requirements into actionable internal policies and procedures. Collaborate with the head of compliance and corporate safety department to interpret regulatory changes and ensure timely implementation across sites
- Design, coordinate, and deliver comprehensive safety and security training programs tailored to the diverse roles within the organization, including office staff, warehouse personnel, and drivers
- Develop, update, and enforce safety and security policies and procedures that align with OSHA standards, industry regulations, and the company’s operational goals. This includes conducting policy reviews to ensure relevance and effectiveness, drafting new procedures in response to emerging risks or regulatory changes, and collaborating with internal stakeholders such as operations, HR, and compliance to ensure policies are practical and consistently applied across all departments. The specialist plays a key role in translating regulatory requirements into actionable internal protocols, ensuring that all employees understand and adhere to safety expectations
- Coordinate and lead emergency preparedness drills, such as fire and severe weather drills, ensuring participation, documentation, and continuous improvement based on lessons learned. identify and train Incident Commanders and Emergency Response Teams, establish assembly points, and assign roles for headcounts and re-entry procedures. Ensure that all employees, including guests and vendors, are familiar with emergency procedure and that signage and communication tools are in place and functional., Act as a key leader during actual emergencies by guiding teammates through the response plan and coordinating with local emergency services as needed

Qualifications
Education
• Bachelor's Degree In Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Safety Management, Industrial Hygiene, Or a related field (Required)
Experience
• 3+ years experience in safety compliance, risk assessment, or logistics operations (Required)

• Knowledge of OSHA, DOT regulations, and Security protocols High
