Overview

The Senior Business Systems Analyst serves as a liaison between IT and AIT business functions. This position is an advocate for stakeholders and end users to ensure systems are built based on business needs and processes. This role will act as a leader to other Business Analysts teammates who need assistance and provide oversight and mentorship with day-to-day BA activities. The Senior BA will continue to build their knowledge and skills around areas of IT and develop subject matter expertise with AIT's business needs, product offerings, and related technology.

Responsibilities include working cross-functionally across departments to identify and accurately capture requirements used in project planning, estimation, development, and QA. Responsible for technical documentation of system components and related processes. Maintains and manages service requests routed via our Service Desk. Manages and monitors existing functionalities and defines new functionality as needed for application integrity. Interfaces with internal and external technical staff to define application solutions and resolve problems as needed. Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Responsibilities


  • Manage large scale projects from a BA perspective. Collaborating with IT team members to create detailed project specifications, review and clarify requirements as needed and act as the liaison between business project stakeholders and IT. Work with the project management team to coordinate requirements and tasks where applicable

  • Conduct testing and deliver training related material for new IT enhancements

  • Responsible for technical documentation of system components and processes. Work with the business to accurately capture requirements and document processes

  • Identifies effective solutions for business software system issues. Solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists

  • Provides input into project management concerning the impacts and risks of requirements gathered. Interfaces with internal IT, external technical contacts and business stakeholders to define application solutions and resolve processes needed. Communicate effectively to stakeholders to resolve their issues or inefficiencies using technology and business processes

  • Lead or assist other teammates with issue resolution

  • Manage the integrity and content of the BA Handbook as needed and train BA's on the changes



  • Evaluate third-party software products to meet business and technical requirements

  • Assist IT Director with budgeting, project timelines and communication

  • Ability to effectively present and promote technology and respond to questions from groups of managers, customers and teammates

  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule


  • Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Education
• Bachelor's Degree Business Management, IT, or related discipline (Preferred)

Experience
• 5+ years Related work experience and/or training (Required)

Licenses and Certifications

• Certified in Business Analysis -PMI - Upon Hire (Preferred) or

• Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) - Upon Hire (Preferred)
