Overview

The Supervisor to lead our Claims and Subrogation Support team is responsible for overseeing the processing of cargo claims and subrogation recovery efforts, ensuring timely resolution, regulatory compliance, and exceptional customer service. The ideal candidate will bring leadership experience, analytical acumen, and a passion for continuous improvement in logistics operations.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee daily operations of the Claims team, ensuring efficient workflow management, timely resolution of claims, and consistent performance across direct reports.
  • Direct and validate the investigation, documentation, and adjudication of freight claims involving loss, damage, and delay, ensuring accuracy and adherence to company standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Lead and drive subrogation to maximize recovery efforts from responsible third parties, including carriers and insurers, while maintaining detailed records and pursuing timely resolution.
  • Support and guide the handling of complex claims, including those involving cross-border liability and international freight regulations, providing subject matter expertise and escalation support.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and produce actionable reports to assess claim volumes, recovery rates, cycle times, and team productivity, using insights to inform process improvements.
  • Develop and mentor team members, promoting a high-performance culture rooted in accountability, precision, and exceptional customer service.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Legal, Insurance, and Operations teams to ensure claims processes align with contractual obligations, compliance standards, and risk mitigation.
  • Performs other duties as assigned

  • The wage range for this position is $73,700.00-$106,100.00 and may vary based on geography as well as relative knowledge, skills, abilities, and experience

Qualifications

Education
• Bachelor's Degree Business, Logistics, Risk Management, or related field (or equivalent experience) (Required)

Experience
• 3+ years claims experience (Required) and
• 1+ years managing/indirectly leading staff and escalation support (Preferred)

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, OneDrive, Zoom (or similar) High
• Experience with international freight claims High

• Familiarity with insurance recovery and legal documentation Medium
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment Medium
