Overview

The Account Manager II will primarily focus on crafting complex solutions for large and/or critical clients while driving continuous improvements with their current portfolio. This role will be the main point of contact responsible for proactively growing, managing and expanding the account health of a portfolio through retaining and strengthening customer relationships and promoting company's services and products. The Account Manager II will partner with the following internal functional groups: field sales (AE's), account management, customer service, and carrier teams to ensure AIT is meeting the customers' expectations, communication, load execution, problem resolution, and account profitability for a customer portfolio.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and grow key stakeholder relationships within a portfolio of existing customers, both external and internal, by proactively crafting solutions that enable the customer to meet their goals while driving results in revenue, volume and profitability for AIT Truckload Solutions
  • Become a trusted advisor for critical clients by identifying and driving continuous improvement opportunities in order to enhance the business relationship
  • Own the daily load board management process and partner with Carrier Sales team on coverage status of each shipment. Proactively communicate the status and performance updates to the customer in a timely manner
  • Communicate with customer regarding pricing, accessorials and cost adjustments and partner with the Sales / Management team to complete RFP's. Regularly analyze customer profitability and take action to adjust pricing or commitments with customer.
  • Prepare and lead customer reviews (i.e. Quarterly Business Review (QBR), Monthly Business Review (MBR))
  • Consistent with continuous improvement efforts, present business analytics and feedback to the customer on a regular and ongoing basis
  • Resolve customer issues by troubleshooting carrier breakdowns and other order exceptions
  • Maintain Account Receivable aging within AIT TS terms and actively pursue past-due invoices and short-pays in collaboration with internal collections team
  • Create, maintain and update SOP’s are up to date and followed for all customers in portfolio. Coordinate with Account Executive or Management, as needed.
  • Communicate & coordinate with the Customer Service team to ensure loads are built with accurate shipment information / appointments and are tracked according to customer requirements
  • Provide training and mentoring to new hires and less experienced Account Managers
  • Handle overages, shortages, and freight claims properly and escalate, as needed
  • Assist with building loads in accordance with customer SOP and load requirements, as needed
  • Maintain record of customer engagement to ensure SLA’s are met
  • Available as needed for after-hours issues
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Complies with all policies and standards
  • The wage range for this position is $62,300.00-$89,800.00 and may vary based on geography as well as relative knowledge, skills, abilities, and experience

Qualifications

Education
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent (Required)
• Associate's Degree (Preferred)
• Bachelor's Degree (Preferred)

Experience
• 3-5 years Experience of logistics / transportation experience (Required)
