Overview

The Business Development Manager is responsible for successfully supporting and continuously driving profitable revenue growth, meeting annual revenue and gross margin budgets by successfully growing business, enhancing total gross profit with existing customers while adding new customers for the Perishable Division.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for developing new business opportunities that deliver long-term value and fuel the company's growth. Create strategic opportunities to grow customers, markets, and relationships. This will include continuous focus on building rapport with the customer, i.e. customer visits, calls and follow-ups.
  • Conduct market analysis, monitor competitive activity, and identifies customer needs. Stay knowledgeable about the current market and effectively target opportunities for growth
  • Ensure all targets are met, in order to continue to grow specific business and manage opportunities through the strategic selling and pipeline processes with Account Executives
  • Develop, maintain and deliver a portfolio budget and plan by developing strategies to maintain and increase business within each account, as well as growing new accounts
  • Able to align with the pricing team to develop and present proposal, lead commercial strategy and customer negotiations, coordinate decision-making process, and overcome objections to closure
  • Exhibit strong understanding on sales budgeting, forecasting and management of revenue, volume, cost and margin objectives and is able to execute on all requests
  • Demonstrate a collaborative, decisive and engaging leadership style. Build strong, trust-based, positive relationships with internal and external constituents
  • Align with AIT’s expectations and is able to deliver services to meet or exceed customer needs and request using technical, organizational and customer knowledge
  • Exhibit strong teamwork traits in order to collaborate with Operational teams regarding technical support & procurement strategies
  • Understands responsibility of importance and effectively executes on all onboarding new accounts & develop SOP’s in collaboration with the A.E. & Operational team

Qualifications

Education Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree In Business Management, Business Administration, Marketing, or related field Required

Experience Qualifications

  • 5-7 years Experience in Sales and Business Development Preferred
  • 3-5 years Third Party Freight Forwarding Industry Experience Required

Skills and Abilities

  • CargoWise (Medium proficiency)
  • Microsoft Office Suites (High proficiency)
