Overview

The Billing Specialist II is responsible for auditing customer invoices to ensure accuracy and compliance, obtaining approvals for ad-hoc billing, and monitoring accurate payment processing. This role also involves proactively resolving billing issues by collaborating with third-party providers and delivering customized solutions, while leveraging data analysis to identify trends and inefficiencies and recommending policy enhancements to improve billing accuracy.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for auditing customer invoices against their respective rate cards to guarantee accuracy and compliance. Obtain customer authorization for ad-hoc billing and ensure invoices are processed and payments are applied correctly.
  • Proactively identify potential issues, implement corrective measures, request adjustments from third-party service providers, and provide tailored solutions to billing issues, ensuring customer satisfaction and maintaining positive relationships through effective communication and negotiation. 
  • Utilize data-driven analysis to identify trends, discrepancies, and inefficiencies, providing recommendations to shape effective operational policies and enhance processes to improve billing accuracy, reduce errors, and guide management decisions.
  • Offering feedback to station personnel, station managers, and regional managers to enhance billing processes and, when necessary, leading instructions on implemented processes to improve AIT's overall financial health.
  • Responsible for creating and distributing Statements of Account to freight payment companies, conduct weekly discussions to resolve open exceptions, and communicate discrepancies with stations to minimize errors.
  • Demonstrate proactive problem-solving and advisory capabilities to ensure operational policies remain adaptable and aligned with evolving business needs. Foster cross-functional collaboration to support a comprehensive approach to policy development and implementation, incorporating diverse perspectives throughout the process.

  • The wage range for this position is $53,300.00-$108,700.00 and may vary based on geography as well as relative knowledge, skills, abilities, and experience

Qualifications

Education
• Bachelor's Degree Finance, Accounting, or work experience equivalent in a related field. (Required)

Experience
• 5+ years Experience in financial reporting, analysis, or accounting, preferably in freight forwarding (Required)
