Overview

​​The Dispatcher II will conduct end-to-end dispatch operations by coordinating vehicle schedules, managing client and contractor communications, resolving service issues, ensuring SLA compliance, optimizing routing, and maintaining accurate documentation to support efficient and high-quality logistics execution.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for routing local freight, dispatching drivers, performing dock checks, tracking shipments, working with dock staff members to ensure movement of freight
  • Timely event data entry of shipment milestones into MyAIT & AS400 tracking system – pickup, delivery, obtain proof of delivery
  • Serve as a central point of contact between clients and agents, delivering timely updates and facilitating smooth coordination across all stakeholders.
  • Handle inbound calls, internal chats, and email inquiries related to shipments and services, ensuring swift issue resolution and consistent communication.
  • Provide customer service to identify and meet specific customer needs
  • Proactively reach out to customers to schedule, confirm, or adjust delivery and service appointments, ensuring successful coordination and follow-through.
  • Ensure all same-day shipments are accurately marked as completed in the system and communicate any changes or updates to relevant parties.
  • Audit system records to verify photo documentation upon order completion and evaluate the quality of submitted images for compliance.
  • Maintain detailed records of customer interactions, service activities, and dispatch-related data to support operational transparency and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure Independent Contractors comply with client-specific service level agreements (SLAs), while securing competitive service rates through effective negotiation and continuously optimizing routing to enhance delivery performance and minimize operational delays.
  • Performs other duties as assigned

  • The wage range for this position is $27.40-$38.70 and may vary based on geography as well as relative knowledge, skills, abilities, and experience.

Qualifications

Education
• High School degree or GED (required)
• Some College/Associate's Degree (preferred)

Experience
• 3+ years experience in customer service/operations. (required) and
• 3+ years experience in Supply chain, or logisitics experience (required)

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Ability to multi-task with strong attention to detail Medium
• Must be able to work in a team setting, across multiple time zones and global geographies Medium
• Ability to determine resources to meet and exceed company and customer expectations Medium
• Ability to problem solve and be solution oriented Medium
• Individual must have a self-starter mentality and is adaptive and flexible Medium
• Ability to calculate freight rates and amounts such percentages, area, circumference, and volume Medium
• Proficient Computer Skills Medium

Licenses and Certifications
• CCS-Certified Coding Specialist - CargoWise CCS/CCO (preferred)
• - DG (preferred)
